About Venaria Reale

Situated in the Piedmont region in North Italy, near Turin, the Venaria Reale or the Palace of Venaria was a royal residence. Included in the list of residences of Royal House of Savoy, this palace was declared a UNESCO Heritage site in 1997. Commissioned by Charles Emmanuel II, the palace was constructed from the year 1675 by Amedeo di Castellamonte. The palace is popular for its incredible architecture, and exquisite interiors by Filippo Juvarra, the Galleria grande, and the beautiful marble arrangements. It is also the sixth most visited museum in Italy, and houses several interesting experiences. The palace was opened to the public in 2007, on October 13th, and since then, Venaria Reale palace has been hosting several exhibitions as well.
